What Your Instagram Bio Says About You

The bio is the window to the soul.

Instagram is the place to share your life in photographs, and while social media isn't full of substance, it's still a great place to show some creativity. What's just as important as the photos you post is your bio. You know, that little blurb that tells everyone who you are and what you're about. There's a few routes you can take to get the perfect bio made for you.

An inspirational quote.

You find the most profound quote that perfectly describes your life, and whenever someone taps to your profile, they'll see you are a well-read, insightful individual... or you've been really in your feels lately and found the perfect quote on Pinterest.

Your VSCO link.

You are ~artsy~ and you're totally into photography. Your VSCO is sort of like the extended cut of your Instagram. Every photo on your profile is on preset C1 and you're all about aesthetics.

"Hometown|College|Sorority."

Oh you know you've seen this one, or this is your bio right now. And why not? It's short, sweet, to the point, and it eliminates any questions. "Where is she from?" Look at the bio. "I wonder where she goes to school?" Look at the bio. "Is she in a sorority?" Look. at. the. bio.

The student athlete.

You're on the grind and working day in and day out, you deserve a little humble brag. Think about those student athlete memes and put that in your Instagram bio. The more emojis, the more dedication you have.

"Public Figure."

You're an Instagram model, "fitness guru" or blogger. You've racked up those followers and thanks to the new update, you can tell the world (well, you can tell Instagram) that you're a pretty big deal.

Emoji's.

They say a picture's worth a thousand words... so an Emoji must be worth even more. Who has time for quotes or descriptions, just throw in a few of these bad boys to really get your message across. Are you basic? Drop the avocado emoji. Do you treat yo self with some McDonald's regularly? The french fries emoji is perfect! Do you only attract good vibes? Try out the sunflower emoji and maybe throw in the crystal ball.

No bio at all.

What a maverick move. You don't have to explain yourself in a 140 character slot, people will figure it out on your own. It is only Instagram after all...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
