The line to get into the premiere of The Avengers was out the door and down the block. I have crazy vivid memories of that day and the literal movie magic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) most ingenious feat yet. When the Hulk smashed Loki's sorry Asgardian carapace into the floor of Stark Tower, everyone in the cinema applauded and cheered. The audience was one ecstatic, adoring machine. And as Captain America rode off into the sunset on his motorcycle, I felt like I too was headed into some kind of wonderful, unknown future.
Cue, Marvel movie obsession.
Marvel movies are fun and exciting, they pay homage to a legacy of beautiful comics, they're humorous and charming, the casting is brilliant, and all of the movies have their own unique feel.
Most importantly, these films show us humanity at its worst in the form of scheming villains, but remind us of our innate capability to be compassionate, determined, and heroic.

As we proceed through Phase Three of the MCU, many exciting new films await. Doctor Strange, starring Bandersnatch Cornstarch as neurosurgeon gone Sorcerer Supreme, is bringing magic,an integral element of the comics, to the big screen this November. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 follows in May, featuring everyone's favorite ragtag family of intergalactic anti-heroes plus newcomer, Mantis, and Star Lord's father who's identity was revealed at SDCC if you want to go spoil it for yourself. I did by accident. Still salty.
Two months later, Spiderman: Homecoming comes, well, home. Unexpected fan-favorite from Civil War, Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker alongside a diverse cast (something fans have been vocal proponents of) featuring Zendaya as Mary Jane. The movie will have multiple iconic villains and RDJ as Tony Stark. Whether Tony will act on his apparent hots for Aunt May remains to be seen. (What the heck happened to Pepper though?)
In February 2018, King T'Challa of Wakanda suits up for Black Panther, teaming up with the CIA and Dora Milaje (basically his all-woman, all-warrior secret service) to defend his country. The cast is already chock full of all-star actors and I for one am excited to see more of Chadwick Boseman's amazing performance as the titular hero.

Before Black Panther, comes the 2017 movie I am most thrilled about: Thor: Ragnarok, which is shaping up to be a Thor-Hulk buddy cop movie featuring new lady hero, Valkyrie, and the MCU's first female villain, Hela.
Hela is the Goddess of Death, able to kill a mortal with one touch and decide the life and death of Gods. She's also Loki's daughter in the comics (and mythology), so you can see where she gets her penchant for convoluted headgear from. Speaking of Loki, we'll get to find out if he really did kill Odin. What is he up to now? What is his cinematic relationship to Hela? Most importantly, is my ridiculous headcanon that he's been carrying out an insanely elaborate plan since he fell into the abyss/Thanos's clutches at the end of Thor to prevent Thanos from destroying the Universe actually canon??
Before i explode, What everyone should really be pumped for is the cinematic culmination of all three phases of the MCU; Avengers: Infinity War, coming in 2018.
It has Infinity in the title so, I mean...It's gotta be epic.
The tremendous film which is going to feature as many heroes as feels organic, got some awesome news this week. Incredibly excited, Vin Diesel, the voice behind kindly tree alien, Groot, confirmed one theory that fans have been praying to Odin for: the Guardians of the Galaxy will suit up alongside the Avengers for Infinity War.
Now that we know this magical character mash up is coming, the all-out fight against Thanos, the villainous purple dude lurking in the credit scenes, is looking even more awesome. He will harness the insane power of all the Infinity Stones in his Infinity Gauntlet, giving him God-like powers and making him the toughest adversary the Avengers have ever had to face. But don't worry, they're all in this together.
I'm personally holding out hope for the Netflix hero team, The Defenders, and or cast members of Agents of SHIELD, to appear in the movie. At the very least, Coulson. The man made his own SHIELD shield with his robot hand, for corn's sake. At least let him show Cap.

Now, the Russo Brothers have said that Infinity War will finish certain stories in the MCU and begin new ones. What will this mean for fan favorites like Cap and Iron Man? Will our beloved characters perish or hang up their hero garb and retire on a tropical island somewhere? Will non-powered characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow be slaughtered by Thanos? Fortunately, no one stays dead in the MCU.

Ant Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel are slated for production, so those heroes will probably be key members of the post-Infinity War Avengers. As well as Spider-man and Black Panther, and maybe even Valkyrie or the Guardians. And what new heroes might crop up? There's been talk of a White Tiger Netflix Series, a Black Widow film may actually be happening after all, the Runaways are headed to Hulu (I am so excited, someone pinch me), Cloak and Dagger are supposedly headed to Freeform, and I am personally holding out hope for a Young Avengers film. (I have a long-winded theory for that one, but that's another article.) While it was removed from the production slate, an Inhumans film could still happen. It could be interesting to see it crossover with Agents of SHIELD as the show's second season introduced Inhumans to the MCU. Speaking of which, SHIELD is getting a fourth season featuring Ghost Rider, which is just sick. Will he ride into a marvel movie one day? Who knows.
I just can't wait for Phase Four.
