A Semester You Would Not Forget

Improving Yourself Next Semester

What do you want to do with your next semester? Improve your grades, interact with more people, talk to professors about doing research with them over the break or during the semester? This semester is your time to become someone who can change the future rather than stay the same and not do anything. Grades will reflect what you can do as a full-time student in college and balance out other things that have to be dealt with. I want people to improve their lives by having a mindset to stay focused in college and helping others to do their best when it comes to academics. I want to improve myself next semester by continuing to give back to the Oswego community in any way possible and network with others that I have not been able to yet. Helping the community will give positivity to your life and slightly eliminate the stress that work has caused. Spring semester is not an easy semester, as there are minimum breaks and work accumulates quickly. When April hits people start to get lazy and it takes a toll on the effort that they put into that work submitted.

A new semester means new goals and different aspects on what curriculums you will be learning to master. Improving yourself as a person with a humble mindset and chasing a goal you set, really will depict what type of person you want to be this semester. Friends who help you through the struggles you are facing can really portray how your semester can become too. College semesters are stressful and it's up to you to face the obstacles getting thrown at you. Everyone should have a plan when starting a new semester or college in general and that is to never slack no matter what comes your way. Excuses is a no-no in college and can change your whole perspective for who you become in the future. This semester set for the highest GPA and do not look back on what you did in the past, but what you are capable of doing for the present. In College, you want to grow so this is the semester to show others that thought down of you that you are focused.

The message for this article is a new semester, means new goals, better GPA, and shaping yourself to be a better person than you may have been already. "Actions speak louder than words" and commit those actions to prove others wrong. When stress comes across, make it because to beat it will make you even stronger. College is all about seeking that one career you want in the future and extra necessities come with that. Don't stress yourself guys, just progress yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
