I'm going to be pretty brief with this one this week, you guys. It's also not going to be one of the usual quirky and semi-funny articles you guys are used to seeing on my page. That's right. This week, I'm getting serious.
As you all know, elections are right around the corner and--hey, get back here! Yeah, I brought up the elections, deal with it!--with the way things have gone this year so far, in all honesty, I'm pretty terrified. Before any of you ask, no, I'm not talking about the candidates, nor am I going to go on a long tangent about who I think would be the better candidate for America; that isn't what this article is about. I'm talking about the election itself and what it has already done to America.

Think about it, guys. We have become so divided because of beliefs, pride and differences in opinion that we're going against one another in every way. Someone's voting for Hillary, oh man, they're so stupid! Someone's voting for Trump, oh jeez, what a lunatic! And that's just some of the light stuff. We've all seen what the conventions and rallies were like, or what happens whenever someone sees a sign that opposes their candidate. And then there were the riots. It's honestly weird to think about, but this election has brought about so much violence among ourselves, I'm starting to get worried about what might happen when someone DOES finally get elected!
This whole thing has even started to hit me on a personal level. I've gone on sites like Facebook and have seen friends and family members get scalded by people, friends mostly, just because their views conflicted with theirs. And it isn't just on the media either, I see this in real life too. I've seen friends turning against each other so quickly, and all because politics were mentioned, or family members get into heated arguments with other members for hours on end for the same reason. Whatever happened to never bringing up politics to friends? What ever happened to being able to have an opinion and not get hurt, or worse, for having it?--okay, maybe that one was always a bit of a stretch, but you guys get what I'm going for here...right? I swear, it makes me so mad sometimes when I see this.
Now I know not everyone is at one another's throat, and that there are still those out there that are trying to stay neutral through this whole thing. All I'm saying is that the suggestion for a physical wall might have been brought up by one of the candidates, but for some of us, we've already built one around our hearts in the hopes of shutting out anything that so much as slightly differs from what we want to hear.
I know that this is pretty out of character for me, and until today, I've been pretty quiet about these sorts of things. But given what's at stake here, I figured what the heck, and decided to finally drop in my two cents as well. But don't worry. I'm not going to be that guy that tries to force you to vote for so-and-so, or will judge you if you don't, but I will be the one that asks all of you, when or if you do vote, to remember what make this country so great in the first place, what makes it free and most importantly, what makes it good for you. Whatever happens, whoever gets elected, just remember that a country is only as strong as the people living within it. And I don't think America will look all that strong if we're practically killing each other over who the next president will be!
