Upset and distraught over the news of a passing legend — it is never easy, it never ceases with time, it only adds to day they are not there. Where were you? Where were you when Kurt Cobain died? A death that rocked the very foundation that held the world afloat? How about Eazy-E? A pioneer in the art of gangsta rap, taken from us like our favorite toy when we were younger as a sign of punishment. How about Tupac? The Chosen one as I call him, sprayed with bullets in Las Vegas, one of, if not everyone's, favorite rappers. Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G- The East Coast Messiah- taken from us in a blink of an eye. It isn't fair, nor is it just. It is always the same scenario. One person gets so big, so powerful and they are taken out by the fear of a take over.
We fast forward now to 2016. Our greatest hero stayed in Cincinnati — 17 years old he was- and by the act of negligence he was taken from us in the all too familiar pattern- death by stardom. This time I called up my conspiracy friends, my friends that can crack the codes and look beneath the surface better than the average human. For hours we deliberated, debated, cried, and checked the facts. Nothing came up the way we wanted. "How could they kill such a legend?" "Why can't we all get along?" we asked in desperation and sorrow. Through constant trial and error, we came to a decision. George Bush put the hit on Harambe.
It was the perfect crime- Hillary was catching heat over the deleted emails, Donald Trump was, well, being Donald Trump, and America grew tired of seeing these two buffoons take up air time. So George Bush did what he did best, called a hit on America's hero to clear our heads. No steel beams were involved, no breaking of a dam, only hot lead and multiple rounds.
Not a day goes by that Harambe isn't on my mind. I stay up to the early hours in the morning, mourning the loss of a legend. All while George Bush is sleeping peacefully in Texas with his burnt orange, University of Texas onesie. I cry and demand justice. Day in and day out. This time, I am not the only one. The help of dank memes, tweets to the Cincinnati zoo, and the slogan, "***** out for Harambe" have all brought awareness to the issue. Cincinnati Zoo was under orders by Bush to delete their twitter, as well as play it off as if nothing happened.
I am staying "woke" in this situation; I can not and will not sleep until justice is brought to Harambe, the greatest Gorilla to ever live. People tell me all the time "he's just a gorilla, get over it" but the thing is, I can't. People don't get over a Beyonce performance or the 14 Bedlam win in Norman, yet I am expected to get over Harambe.
George Bush, I am on to you. I am on to your schemes now that I am older. No longer will you pull the wool over my eyes, no longer can you hide behind the steel beams. I am coming for the justice and truth about Harambe; I am coming for you.
