When I was a child, I was usually the shortest one in my class. Some people thought I would never grow because I was one of the shortest if not the shortest person in the class. When I got older, I was still the same height I was in elementary school. I also looked younger than I actually was so people thought I was younger than my actual age. I got used to people teasing me about my height and looks, so that mixture makes me look young to this day, even though I'm not as young as I look.
When I was 15, 16, and 17, I actually looked those ages in the face. When I turned 18, everyone thought I was 17 or less. Even at 19, I looked younger. At 20, I still get that I look 15-17. I always say that I get that I look younger a lot which is true. It doesn't bother me that much to get told that I look younger than I actually am, however, it can get annoying when I get told no or can't have something because of my young looks. People don't know what my age is unless they look at my ID and I think it's funny when I show my ID. Everyone gets so shocked when they see or hear my actual age.
My friends even think I look young. They always tease me about how I look the youngest out of all of them. On occasion though, I get that I look older than I am but not by much. I've gotten that I look 21 or a little more than that. I like hearing the variety of guesses on how old I am. I like using my tattoos to show my age as well. I wouldn't have tattoos if I wasn't 18 or older. I always laugh when people say the wrong age, especially if it's way off. I love to see people's reaction to hearing my actual age.
People say that looking young is a good thing for the future because if you're 50 years old, you would want to look 35 or so. I see this as a positive thing because I think my young looks will help me look young for when I get old. I look at the positive things about my young looks. I love being short and looking young has its benefits. Looking younger has never felt so good until you get up there in age.
If you look younger than you actually are, it's not a bad thing. Embrace your young looks because you will love looking young when you are up there in age. I know I don't look 20 but I really am 20. I love getting to shock people and surprise them with my age. It's really funny to make people guess my age because they never get it right. I hope I'm going to look good when I'm like 50 years old or older. I'm 20 years old, yet I look 15, and that's okay.
