Minnesota is more than a frozen wasteland inhabited by flannel cladden, Canadian accented, farmers. Many don't know that Minnesota is actually an enjoyable place to live! 5 Underestimated perks of living in Minnesota are....
1. The Weather
Minnesota may be known for its cold winters, but it's also a state where you can enjoy all four seasons. My favorite season in Minnesota is fall. The temperature is perfect for cozy sweaters and the scenery is arguably the best to have. The diverse species of trees and their leaves that change color make for a breathtaking view. The weather is also relatively safe; the worst that could happen is a blizzard!
2. "Minnesota Nice"
People who have never been to Minnesota don't truly understand what this means. The people in Minnesota are genuinely nice and go out of their way to be good people. Whether it be holding doors or being courteous on the road, or even buying the person's coffee behind you in line, Minnesota natives never seem to run out of kindness.
3. The Attractions
Minnesota is underestimated for the amount of attractions it has! Most people know that the Mall of America is located in Bloomington, MN, but not many people take the time to look into other sites to see that Minnesota has to offer! For example, taking a visit to the Lutsen mountains, seeing the Aerial Lift Bridge, exploring the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, or a trip to taste the World's Best Donuts in Grand Marais!
4. The Water
Born and raised in Duluth, MN, I am biased and firmly believe that water from Lake Superior is the best water in the world. Some would argue that water is just water, but Minnesota water has a special taste to it. It's so clear and fresh, I can't imagine ever having water from anywhere else. I LOVE my Minnesota tap water. They don't call it the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nothing!
5. Hockey
Aside from being known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Minnesota is also known as the state of hockey. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are the homeland of one of the best sports ever created. Every year the state anticipates the high school state hockey tournament, gathering at the Xcel Energy Center to watch teams battle for the coveted championship title.
