Pizza. You know it, you love it. There are as many variations of pizza as there are days of the week, and then some. Every pizza, like every day, is different, but many days can be generalized. It's time we linked the inevitability of another day with its lovable pizza equivalent.
Monday
Coming off the high of the weekend, the extra hours of sleep, movie marathons and nights out, Monday can be a little bit of a downer. It’s back to work, to the gym and to school. Early mornings and late nights. That’s why Monday can only be one type of pizza: Anchovy.
Even if you like anchovies, odds are you’re painfully aware that everyone else hates them. Anchovies are oily and smelly and no one really knows exactly what they are. Anchovies and Mondays deserve each other.
Tuesday
Not yet exhausted from the week’s work, but not close enough to the weekend to be excited, Tuesday has to be the veggie lover’s pizza. A classic combination of healthy optimism and despair.
Because it’s only the second day of the week when you see the word “veggie” and tell yourself that you’re sticking with your new diet, but we all know you’re still eating pizza.
Wednesday
It’s the middle of the week. You’re halfway there. The end is in sight, but you need the protein power to push through the next three days and into the weekend. The meat lover’s pizza is here to provide that energy boost.
It’s protein-packed, it’s carbo-loaded and it’s here for you. The meat lover’s pizza has the protein Dr. Oz told you that you needed, and the cheesy delight your heart desires.
Thursday
Thursday is a tease because it’s always tricking you into believing it’s Friday, but it never is. For this reason, Thursday doesn’t even get to be a pizza. Thursday is a big, greasy cheese calzone.
Tricking you into thinking it’s a folded up pizza since day one.
Friday
It’s here. It’s time. It’s Friday. Friday night is the night you go out to blow off steam and forget everything you’ve experienced over the last five days. For this reason, Friday is indisputably the margherita pizza.
For obvious reasons, and because everyone loves a good marg.
Saturday
Saturday is the day when you don your largest pair of sweatpants, sleep until mid-morning and do as little as possible. It's pizza equivalent: Pepperoni.
Pepperoni pizza is nothing special, but it doesn’t have to be. Pepperoni is simple and lovable, and we accept it with open arms.
Sunday
The day of the week when you get the best of both worlds, the weekend and the week days rolled into one beautiful package. Therefore, Sunday’s pizza is the supreme pizza.
It’s veggies, it’s meat, it’s cheese and it’s bread. It’s everything the world of pizza has to offer, rolled onto one sauce-laden, crusty wonderland.
The days of the week are just another inevitbale aspect of life, and so is pizza. No matter what day of the week it is, just try to love the current moment as much as JLaw loves pizza.
