I'd Rather Spend My Money On...

What things are really worth spending your money on? Does it really have to be ALWAYS on yourself? I understand the fact that sometimes we just "don't have anything to wear!" However, have you looked around? Have you noticed those who actually have nothing, and I mean nothing in every aspect of life.

So, just in case you are considering the above statements, I am going to provide you with some of the many excellent ways you can spend your money on, and more importantly help somebody (while you are also helping yourself).

1. Surprise your family members once in a while

It doesn't have to be an expensive present. Once in a while, you can show those people who love you exactly how much you reciprocate. Try it! It will bring somebody joy, especially if it comes around at a difficult time. Don't forget the love, that counts even more.

2. GoFundMe.com

Gofundme.com is a website in which you can put your money for just about any good cause there is. It is a completely trustworthy site, so you have no excuse to not to grab that computer and start donating.

3. Operation Smile.

What it is and what is does: Nonprofit organization that provides free surgeries for children suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate all around the world. Yes!, you can also be part of this. Donate now and make a difference for those children.

4. Finding cures. Saving others: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I am convinced that you are familiarized with the work that St.Jude does for children with cancer. As amazing as this is, they can't do it all alone. You are important because you make the free treatment happen every single time you donate. These angels deserve a chance in life, they deserve free treatment and their families, they deserve having to see their kids grow up. Start saving lives today.

I would have listed three hundred more places, more websites, and more causes. However, there are too many out there. What you need to do is just look for them; get out of snapchat and go explore what is out there. The world needs help and it is our duty to contribute. From animal, to environmental, to humans themselves... there is always something in which you can offer your help.

Be aware, however, that: IF THERE IS NO LOVE IN ALL THESE THINGS, THEN IT WILL BE POINTLESS. It is not the money that counts only, a warm heart is absolutely necessary as well.

I hope you think twice when you get that next payment check.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
