Hufflepuffs Are The Best

And here's 11 reasons why.

As the witches' new year is officially upon us I will share with you, dear Reader, all the very best things about being a Hufflepuff (although my small list can't possibly do it justice).

1. Our common room

2. We obviously know how to cook (because our common room is right by the kitchens)

3. We're fun, like really fun

4.Our a e s t h e t i c

-Walking through dark green, lush woods

-Hot cocoa and your favorite book

- Happy smiles on gray mornings

-Long nights of studying filled with endless cups of tea

-Really great cinnamon buns

5.Honestly we are just so darned cute.

6. We've got the best traits of all the houses

While everyone else is going out getting themselves killed (Gryffindor), plotting mischief and revenge (Slytherin) or intensely avoiding situations i.e. "going ghost" (Ravenclaw), Hufflepuffs are doling out fairness and affection.

7.We're brave, smart, loyal and kind but we're certainly not pushovers.

Look, y'all (@ all the other houses): stop laughing at Puffs for being Puffs. I don't know who told you that we're so passive that we let everything slide but we don't. Hufflepuffs are the least watched house and, as such, have access to everything under the guise of a stereotype.

8.We're not all Cedric Diggory, I promise.

9. Um, we get Tonks.

And if that's not winning then clearly your priorities are all messed up. Tonks is the embodiment of Puff pride: fearless, deeply loving, a total badass and loyal to the death.

10. We get November

That's right out of the fall and winter months guess who claims November? Hufflepuff! And what month better than one of abundance, change, warmth and family? November is the perfect month for the holidays and with that golden color shining on you who can resist a good time with good people?

11. Um and who doesn't love this gorgeous color of yellow?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
