Writer's block is something that I believe everyone has had to face at some point or in their lives. Writer's block means "the problem of not being able to think of something to write about or not being able to finish writing a story, poem, etc." All of us know what it feels like to have this as a challenge, especially when it is school or work related. Most of us have found a way to deal with writer's block and move past it in time. However, other people use it as an excuse to not complete the writing they must or want to accomplish. Luckily, there are a few ways to overcome the annoyance of writer's block and continue on with your writing.

1. Take a Break

Taking a break from your writing can help because it can be used as a more relaxed thinking stage or as a no-thinking time. You can use the time to think about what it is you're writing or just give yourself a break away from it to help clear your mind. This writing- free time can also give you the opportunity to do other things that are less stressful to think about, like reading, watching TV or a movie, or some cleaning. Who knows? Maybe something great will come out of it.

2. Find an Inspiration or Muse

Finding an inspiration or a muse to base your writing off of is another way to help get your creative juices flowing. Having an inspiration can help solidify the foundation of what your topic is potentially about. Visualizing and zeroing in on something like this can help you overcome writer's block in a pinch.

3. Change the Topic

Changing the topic of what you are writing can help you deal with writer's block too. Even if you don't have a lot of leniency on what you can write about, there're still some aspects you could change up. Having a fresh idea or two as backup plans when writing can be very helpful. It is always good to have a backup plan in place in case something does not work out the way you thought that it might. Plus, if you change up the main idea of the piece, that's just one more thing you are becoming knowledgeable about.

4. Do Research on Your Topic

Researching your topic is a great way to move past your writer's block. Doing research can give you a fresh take on the topic of your choosing and gives you more insight about the subject. Plus, you can also discover new information about what you want to write about. You may find new and important facts that will strengthen your piece.

So the next time that writer's block tries to stop you from writing what you want, try some of these tricks or come up with your own. Good luck!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
