Imagine for a minute being the Secretary of State. This role in the United States government is managing foreign policies. Some countries do not particularly like the U.S so this job has grown to be more challenging in recent years. In any job, there’s pressure to do it right and help the business you’re working for. But being a part of the United States’ government is a whole other level of pressure. You’re controlling the country that 7 billion people live in! How could that amount of pressure not get to you?
There’s been recent discussion about Hillary Clinton using another email server when she was Secretary of State. The FBI has been interviewing her about this. When you’re Secretary of State, the government mandates that you use a state email server. Yet, Clinton used a private one. Before I state my opinion, let me state some of the facts. Hillary Clinton’s campaign said that Clinton gave a three-and-a-half-hour interview in Washington at the FBI headquarters. She did not have to do this, but she did (Boston Globe). Clinton is not going to be prosecuted, at least that’s what the interview shows (Boston Globe). Donald Trump instantly took a stand against Hillary Clinton when he found out about the private server. He has stated many times, “The e-mail issue undermines Clinton’s fitness for office” (Boston Globe). Trump also named the Democratic candidate “Crooked Hillary” (Boston Globe). Trump sure took no time trying to make himself look good on this issue! Trump then tweeted, “‘It is impossible for the FBI not to recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton. What she did was wrong…” There has been no official closing to this case. The FBI is still investigating, but those are the facts so far.
I don’t know much about the rules of being Secretary of State. Clinton did do something wrong, but she confessed to it. The way I look at this is from a moral standpoint. Yes, Hillary Clinton should not have used a private email server. That was wrong of her to do so. But I take her side as opposed to Donald Trump’s side. Trump attacked Clinton on Twitter and in interviews. He stated, “What Hillary did was wrong!” Yes, but how about you look at the man in the mirror? Look at yourself first before criticizing anyone else. That tweet made it seem as if Trump is perfect and has not committed any wrongdoings. Let’s take a look at some of the statements Trump has said. You tell me if he is clean of any wrongdoing:
1) “Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man – he made a good decision.”
2) “Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog and will do it again – just watch. He can do much better!”
3) “You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”
4) “I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”
5) “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.”
I could go on and on listing some more quotes that, let’s just say, don’t shine a positive light on Trump, but I won’t. If you want to see more quotes from him, here’s the link: http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/blogs/550112/donald-t... .
Donald Trump bullies people. He discriminates against minorities. Think again before you tweet, Donald. While Hillary committed a wrongdoing, you are not without sin. Clinton, you can move past this. Just keep doing what you’re doing: encouraging women empowerment. No email server is as important as empowering women to be the best that they can be.
Rock on Hillary!
