I traveled to Universal City this December to give you guys some insight into this time of year in Hollywood.
The first look

When the sun goes down Universal Studios comes alive with Christmas lights from all around.
This is the inside of the entrance and as you can see the holiday season was not forgotten. The statues have fun Santa hats on and the face of the Grinch welcomes you in.
Palm trees > Christmas trees
Breanna Steele
Yes, even the palm trees have been lit up to join in on the Christmas fun. Just when you thought Los Angeles couldn't get more festive, they stepped up. These tropical trees lit up all of Universal Studios keeping your eyes sparkling.
The Christmas trees
Breanna Steele
The Christmas tree is one of the main details about this holiday season and Universal Studios did not forget to make them stand out. The whole city is covered with ginormous Christmas trees like this one. With ornaments as big as your face you'll feel small but be in awe at the tree in front of you.
Grinchmas

The Whoville Christmas tree is as spectacular in real life as it is in the story. Universal Studios does three shows at night where they light up the Whoville Christmas tree, but not before the Grinch tries to ruin it. Once they light the tree the faces around you light up as well. Then loud Christmas music comes on over the speakers and it snows! Yes, snow in California, Universal made it happen. This is definitely an event to see.
Christmas in Hogsmeade

The wizarding world at Christmas time is even more magical than the wizards themselves. The town is decorated in snow with wreaths hanging on every door. One show to watch is the frog choir croaking Christmas songs every hour. A holiday show appears on the Hogwarts Castle-like in the picture shown above, perfect to watch while you enjoy some delicious cold or frozen Butterbeer (I recommend getting it frozen.) If you are an avid Harry Potter fan this is the best time to come and explore this magical place.
Christmas characters
Breanna Steele
Don't forget to get your picture with all of your favorite characters in their special holiday outfit! Just like Hello Kitty is above. Not only did she bring the Christmas spirit, but also your favorite ogre, Shrek, wore a special red Christmas sweater to join in the festivities.
Plan your trip to Universal today! You won't regret it.
