15 Ways To Handle End-Of-Semester Stress
Huffington Post

Finals are coming. Professors are rushing trying to fit in all the material. Your stress level is rising quickly! Ah, the fun of college. I totally understand how you feel, so here are 15 ways that you can combat all your stress and cross the semester finish line.

1. Have a dance party.

Take a break from the books and turn up the music. Whether it's Taylor Swift, The Beatles or Michael Jackson, just dance until your heart is content.

2. Bake cookies.

Or brownies, or cupcakes, or -- well, you get the point. Baking is a great way to de-stress. Plus you get to eat whatever you make, and who doesn't love a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie?

3. Go to an on-campus event.

Get out of your dorm or apartment for a few minutes and go support your peers. Find some friends and go to a basketball game or a concert and just enjoy the college experience.

4. Have a mini Netflix marathon.

Netflix is a college student's best friend. Pick a show, grab some of your fresh-baked cookies, and relax for a bit.

5. Color.

Coloring is an incredible stress reliever. Many stores now sell adult coloring books that are full of incredible pictures to color. Do not feel ashamed to grab a princess or a superhero one if that's what you want. There are also coloring apps you can download for free!

6. Have a game night with your friends.

Life, Heads-Up, Monopoly, Apples to Apples -- there are tons of games to choose from! Have a blast with your friends and create some awesome memories that you will never forget!

7. Write.

Writing allows you to take all of your feelings and put them into a tangible form. Write about anything and everything. When I'm stressed, I write the situation out and I immediately feel better.

8. Take a nap.

Lay your head down and get some extra zzz's. College is full of late nights, so grab a nap during the day to re-energize. If you are trying to study and your eyes keep attempting to close, then let them. Give in to the power of the nap.

9. Go to a matinee.

Want to see the latest box office hit at a college acceptable price tag? Then go in the afternoon and catch a matinee. Some theaters even have a special on Tuesdays where you can get coke and popcorn for super cheap.

10. Volunteer.

Take some time to help others. I promise you will feel better afterwards. Some schools even have a service requirement, so go knock some of those hours out and take a stress break at the same time.

11. Work a puzzle.

You would probably think that puzzles are stressful because they have so many pieces and you have to figure out how to put them all together, but it is actually extremely relaxing.

12. Read a good book.

Put the textbook down and grab something you actually enjoy.

13. Go on an adventure.

Go for a hike, a drive, or even just to the park and clear your mind of all your worries.

14. Go shopping.

College kids don't usually have a ton of money, but there are a lot of quality items that you can get for cheap. Hit up the dollar and clearance sections at stores like Target and Walmart. Be sure to make a budget before you hit the shops so that you won't overspend and stress out.

15. Have some quiet time.

Find a place where you can stop everything that is going on and just breathe. You could run a nice bubble bath and just relax in the tub for a while. This would also be a great time to put on some chill music, do a devotional, read the Bible and pray. It's totally up to you how you spend your quiet time.

The end of the semester is definitely stressful, but if you just take some time to relax, then you are sure to survive.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
