1. Organize your carry-on.

Whether it be a backpack or suitcase, make security checks & traveling easier by having little pouches for designated things. For example; keep all your cords and cables in one pouch so its easier to take them out when need be.

2. Pick your seats in advance.

Pretty self-explanatory. Pick out your seats online in advance so you don't get stuck with the dreadful middle seat.

3. Check the weight of your luggage before you get to the airport.

It's not only annoying but extremely troublesome if you get to the airport and find out your baggage is over the maximum limit. Avoid rummaging through your luggage in the middle of the airport or avoid those extra fees by just checking the weight before you go!

4. Toothbrush & toothpaste/ mouthwash

Probably can live without for those short distance flights, but truly crucial for those long-distance flights. When on a 14-hour flight and not being able to shower, brushing your teeth isn't a consolation but hey, at least your mouth will feel clean!

5. Smelling oils

If you have bad motion sickness, smelling oils can be really helpful. They block out the toxic smells of being crammed inside a box with hundreds of people for several hours.

6. Gum/candy

Gum is always helpful for take-off and landing. Not only can it prevent your ears from popping but it can also ease the anxiety that comes with the plane take-off and landing. Candy can be helpful too for in flight!

7. Facial Wipes

If you have oily or sweaty skin, you can easily find discomfort or the feeling of dirtiness after a couple of hours being on the plane. Facial wipes can help you feeling fresher and more comfortable.

8. Load up on movies/books

Got to solve the boredom somehow, am I right? Especially if your flight does not have in-flight entertainment make sure to carry your favorite book or download some movies on whatever device your carrying. Plane rides don't only have the tendency to be exhausting, but also highly boring.

9. Comfy sweats & easy shoes

Comfy sweats and easy shoes are just the universal dress code for plane rides. If you’re going to be crammed in a giant mode of transportation for several hours, might as well be comfy.

10. Fuzzy socks

Don't forget about your feet, they get cold too. Especially if you have the proclivity to take off your shoes the plane.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
