7 Times You Were A Pro Optimist This Disastrous Week

We've all had one of those weeks. You know what I'm talking about. The week where you feel like you just can't catch a break, everything seems to be going wrong, and you're forced to sit back and let life have its own way. Well, I have news for you: you're doing an amazing job. Don't you forget it.

1. You went to a coffee shop and got the opposite of what you asked for...but it turned out to be your new favorite drink.

Sometimes, the barista adds a gallon of crystalized sugar to your iced coffee. It happens. Other times, he reads the bags under your eyes and "accidentally" gives you an extra shot of espresso. For this reason, we forgive.

2. You were up all night doing homework…and your professor cancelled morning class.

Giphy

Going to sleep at 7 a.m. is cool, right?

3.  You got rained on… and a brand new hairstyle.

Giphy

Ten percent chance of rain? Yeah right. Embrace the volume.

4.  You burnt dinner…so you ordered takeout instead.

Giphy

When in doubt, pizza is always the answer. With extra toppings, too, because you deserve it.

5. Your phone died… giving you a perfect excuse to take time for yourself.

Giphy

Sometimes when your phone dies, you realize that it's the perfect little wake-up call that you're in need of time to yourself. (Pun intended). Once you put the screen down, it's much easier to focus on your own needs.

6. The Wi-Fi stopped working…now reading is your new favorite way to relax.

Giphy

Diving into a book is the perfect way to escape from the demands of life while still keeping your mind active. This means that it'll cure that case of writer's block or help you prepare better for your final exam, and afterwards, you'll feel much more relaxed.

7. Finally, your bad day gave you inspiration for your next creative breakthrough.

Giphy

Out of the bad comes the better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
