8 Things You Should Do Over Winter Break

WOAH...It is finally December, which means winter freaking break!!! After busting your butt off all fall semester long, it is time to reward yourself for working hard and making it out alive. With one month off with no homework, no exams, no papers, and no tests what is one to do with so much time on their hands? Keep reading to find out!

1. Relax

After studying hours on end you deserve a day or maybe even month to yourself. Whether that be catching up on sleep or indulging in a spa day, you deserve it, so treat yo self girl.

2. Spend time with family and friends

Whether if you attend a college close to home or far away, during break you should make time to see some family and friends. With everyone away at college at different times and locations, breaks are some of the best times to catch up and see everyone. Meet up for a cup of coffee or lunch to discuss what has been going on in each of your lives. Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you make time because you never know when everyone will be home together again.

3. Bake

With all this free time and, of course, the holiday season, winter break is the best time to try out new recipes. What better way to get in the holiday spirit than baking your all-time favorite dish?! Not only will you be indulging in sweet treats, but your home will be filled with an amazing aroma afterwards. Pull out your Pinterest board or recipe book and get baking!

4. Catch up shows and movies

We all have many shows and movies we love to binge watch, but with a crazy semester filled with many obligations, often times we never seem to have enough time to catch up. Why not use this winter break to do just that! Lounge in your pajamas while eating your favorite food as you binge watch whatever show or movie you want. With no work to worry about, it is okay to stay in your pajamas all day and to not feel guilty doing so.

5. Travel

Whether it be traveling out of the country or state or having a stay vacation, get outside and see what the world has to offer. Try something new or stick to what you know and love. Spend the day by the pool or beach, or go site seeing! Whatever you do, make sure you are having fun and making the most of your time.

6. Exercise

With the holidays and the month off it is normal to indulge and get into holiday spirit. But with that you should look after yourself and get some exercise in for even a little during your day. After enjoying a few hours of Netflix binging, head out and go for a bike ride or walk around your neighborhood, something to get your body moving so you look and feel good.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to enjoy your time off and make the most of it!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
