" Scandal" lover or not, we all look up to Olivia Pope. She has an exciting and fulfilled love life, way of living, and overall fascinating personality.

Here are some ways to live your life more like Olivia Pope:

Take charge and call the shots:

Olivia Pope is always in charge. Even when it comes to President Fitzgerald Grant, Olivia is the one running the show. We should all try and take a little more control whether its at work, at home, or in our relationships.

Choose men wisely:

Nobody has a more exquisite taste in men than Olivia Pope. Whether it is the president of the United States or the influential navy retiree Jake Ballard, who once worked in the pentagon. Olivia never settles for less than she deserves or allows men to get away with treating her poorly. We could all take a note from Olivia when it comes to choosing our suitors.

Have Ambition:

Olivia Pope is never lacking motivation. She strives to be the best she can be and win a war against anyone around her. Olivia Pope speaks freely and continues to preserver even when things are standing in her way or people are trying to knock her down. Ambition is something we can definitely learn from Olivia.

Trust Your Gut:

When Olivia makes up her mind or makes a decision, she goes with it. Olivia decides things based on how she feels and what her “gut” is telling her. She doesn’t allow others to influence her choices or actions.

Always strive to wear the white hat:

Not only does Olivia always come out on top, but she does so wearing the “white hat.” She plays the hero and aims to help the right people in every situation that comes her way. She exposes liars and cheaters and protects the honest. Like Olivia, we should all try to wear the white hat.

Dress for success:

We have all drooled over Olivia’s impeccable taste at one point or another. Whether in her home, in the office, or in the white house Olivia is always dressed elegantly, ready for her photo to pop up on page one of the Washington Post. Even when her relationships are in turmoil or work in the office is crazy, Olivia is always perfectly put together. Many times we have a bad day and throw on our sweatpants for the grocery store, or are feeling tired so we skip the morning make up routine. We can all learn a lesson from Olivia Popes Wardrobe and dress for success.

Red Wine:

Anyone who watches Scandal knows that Olivia loves a good glass of wine, or three at the end of a long day. Almost every episode ends with Olivia on the couch with a glass in hand. It's important that we all allow ourselves to unwind at the end of every stressful day.

Olivia Pope has a successful career, handsome and powerful suitors, and a life of adventure and excitement. Everyone who watches "Scandal" admires Olivia and her ability to be a smart, beautiful, and empowered woman. With Olivia as our inspiration we can all be gladiators.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
