You know, it's not every day that you find someone that is your soulmate. I'm not talking about a significant other necessarily; a soulmate can be your best friend, your "person." The yin to your yang. Or, in this case, Dr. Cristina Yang. When all went wrong, they were there for each other, through thick and thin. When you find your person, everything just seems better. They're the one that you can call at 3 a.m. in order to cry about a first date that went bad, or if you just found this really stupid YouTube video that they have to just watch right then.
They're the one that you will send screenshots of messages to when you've had a fight with your boyfriend and you don't know what to say or endless pictures of outfits for them to pick from so you can look just right for that cute guy in class the next day. They're the one that will give you the pep talks before a big test or job interview, and the one that you can count on to give you a fake emergency to get out of an awkward situation. They are your confident with your deepest, darkest secrets, as well as with the little lies you have them go along with so your parents do not get mad at you.
God gives you people in your life for a reason. There's always that one person that you wondered where they have been your entire life because they're that missing puzzle piece that you've been looking for. You can have more than one person that you are close to, or that you feel like you can tell anything to, but you'll never have more than one person. That one person you have is special. You can feel that connection when you are with them.
I found my person in middle school, and she's never left me. Sure, we've had our ups and downs, but what friendship hasn't? I would be completely lost without her sending me pointless memes at all times during the day, calling me freaking out because she doesn't want to go eat by herself and wants me to go, or telling me just simply about how her day at work went. It's nice to have that little bit of separation from my crazy life that I have.
When God puts these people in your life, don't question it. Go along with it, play it by ear and something beautiful will bloom. That person can end up being your soulmate, your person, the Meredith to your Cristina. That connection that you have with that person is simply just beautiful, and it isn't something that you can just pass up. You don't just find it every day.
