Being single during the holidays can be difficult, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun. Here are some ways I made the most of my solo holiday season this year.
1. Enjoy having extra money.
Since you’re forever alone, you don’t have to buy a present for a boyfriend/girlfriend. Spend the money on things for yourself instead, like a cardboard cut-out of your favorite celebrity. This way, you’ll have someone to take to the movies with you. 2. Send out a cute Christmas card.It may look lonely, since it would just be you in the picture. No worries, though—you can always pose with a pet or hire a stranger to pose with you.
3. Eat lots of good food.4. Spend time with family.
Maybe even go out for a night on the town with your sister and her long-term boyfriend. Don't forget to bring something to do, like a cross-word puzzle. This way, when they have a romantic moment, you will have something to distract you from the all-encompassing feeling of perpetual loneliness.5. Watch Love Actually.

Enjoy Christmas with a heartfelt holiday movie. Also, if someone catches you crying at the love scenes, you can just say they’re happy tears.
6. Get all your friends nice gifts.

For example, you can give them all the makeup you aren’t going to use. Who are you trying to impress?
7. Ask Santa for all the gifts you want.
Like another cat, or two, or ten.8. Take long, hot baths.
It's not like you have anywhere to be Saturday nights, anyway. 9. Treat yourself. Instead of buying presents for your boyfriend, buy yourself presents. Like a full-body pillow you can cradle at night while you cry yourself to sleep.10. Have fun playing the field.
If you’re nervous, you can start small by joining a dating website and lowering your standards.11. Go on lovely, solitary walks. You can even listen to classics while walking, like “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” or “All by Myself”. 12. Start the year with a good New Years Resolution. And a hefty drink.
Have a great 2016, and hang in there!
