10 different ways to celebrate america's birthday

1. Fireworks

What better way to celebrate the birth of our country than to shoot up colored balls of fire into our sky? Seriously though, who doesn't love fireworks? Besides dogs haha. They are brightly colored, pretty, and light up the whole sky. I believe in a way to that fireworks are a representation of people in our country. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors so therefore I think we were kind of meant to shoot them into the sky.

2. Picnics

Who doesn't love a good picnic? You get to enjoy the beauty of nature while eating food, sounds like a win win to me. Sometimes all you want to do is just relax, enjoy the beauty of nature and just eat some sandwiches.

3. Escape to the Beach

Toes in the water walking down and up the pier, eating all the seafood you can stuff in your stomach all at once. Is there really a better way to celebrate? You can get tan and eat seafood I mean come on. Also fireworks are such a good thing on the beach, they way they reflect on the water is just absolutely stunning.

4. Shopping

I don't know about you guys but holiday's mean an excuse to shop. You get to decorate your house, and buy new outfits simply because you can't wear the same thing you wore last year, that just isn't acceptable.

Because who doesn't love their local parades in their town on the 4th of July? I know I do! Hearing the high school/college band play while everyone is clapping and cheering them on. Everyone is happy and wearing red, white, and blue. It is just an overall great day to remember everything that brought our country to where we are today.

7. Baseball Game

What is more American than baseball. Like really they set fireworks off after a 4th of July game if they play on that day in the state. I guarantee you that is one of the most American things that anyone has ever heard.

8. Family Time

Family time is important during each holiday. Especially if you have a family full of veterans who actually helped fight for our freedom. Doing a quick family photoshoot is really cute for the 4th of July as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
