When You Find Something You Love Don't Let It Go

A person, a hobby, anything. Don't let it go.

You can fall in love with anything - swimming, reading, writing, your job, a person, a place - it doesn't really matter what it is. The point is that when you do find something that you really love, don't let anyone take it away from you.

Someone might tell you that you're not the best writer (I've been told that - and you might think I suck at writing, that okay!) but the point is that if you love it, you keep doing it. You find outlets to do it, whether it's just keeping a journal, or finding a place like the Odyssey that supports you and helps you continues to do your favorite thing. You might not be great at everything but if you're open to criticism, open to learning, and growing in what you love, then it's completely worth it.

You might fall in love with waking up at the beach every day. Hell, living by the beach is expensive! But you can find a way to make it work and even if you spend a weekend every year being by the beach, waking up and loving your life and that's what you look forward to until you can figure out something else, you find a way to hold on to what you love.

When you love someone, you fight for them. You figure out a way to get through the crap so that you two can be together and you two can be happy together. Life sucks and if you are lucky enough to find someone who loves you - really loves you - the way you love them, you don't let anyone else take that away. Stuff can always happen, but you find a way to make it work and if it doesn't work, I promise something better will come along.

When you fall in love with your job, they say it's never really working. If you're lucky enough to wake up every day and go into work and love what you do, it's truly a magical and lucky thing. Most people don't feel that way. Most people wake up every day and go to a place for eight hours and drag their feet for 40+ years until they can finally stop working. It's sad, but it's the reality of it. So if you find something you love doing, don't ever let it go.

The whole point is, whatever you love, be it a person, a place, a job, a hobby, anything - don't let that shit go! Keep going at it. Learn all that you can about it and make sure you keep growing in it. Just make sure you stay happy because it's the only thing in life that's ever really worth it

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
