First, there are a few things you should know if you want to be a Badger, and by Badger I don’t not mean the cute fluffy animal. If you want to be a Badger, as in a student and fan of the greatest university ever, AKA the University of Wisconsin-Madison, then you need to complete a few steps. After all, it’s not easy to be a Badger -- it requires dedication, determination, kindness, and pride, but I have a feeling if you are reading this article then you probably already have those qualities, so congratulations! Now, let me discuss the steps you need to take if you want to put your whole heart and soul into becoming a Badger.
Step #1: First, you need to be an individual who has a work hard, play hard attitude. This university is not easy, and Badger students know that in order to have fun, you have to push yourself to study in advance, complete your assignments, and ace those midterms. Nobody said college was easy, and if you want to be a Badger then you really have to be able to work hard because we Badgers take great pride in our academic achievements. We would love to make you a new addition to our Badger family, but only if you are willing to work hard!
Step #2: Second, you must be an individual who loves being involved in the community in some shape or form. Whether you have always dreamed of creating a club, being on the exec board of a sorority or fraternity, or have always wanted to become a Badger volunteer, then that is amazing because you will become involved in the Madison community! Every individual is different, and we all have something extraordinary to bring to the table. If you want to be a Badger, then be ready to put your whole heart and soul into something that you love!
Step #3: Third, if you want to be a Badger, then you have to be willing to represent your school with pride! Go to the University Bookstore and buy yourself some Badger gear because if you truly want to be a Badger, you have to be willing to flaunt our school colors and mascot with pride and excitement. After all, what mascot is as cute yet fierce as a Badger? And no colors will ever win over our red and white. Also, you have to be prepared for game days. Be ready to see an entire city covered in red because Madison goes all out for our Badgers. So remember, if you want to be a Badger, bring out that Wisconsin gear and take pride in the University of Wisconsin-Madison!
Step #4: Finally, if you want to be a Badger, you have to be kind! Badgers are adorable, strong, loving, and kind! I know from experience that every time I walk to class, I am greeted with smiles. I know that if I'm ever sick or having a bad day, my fellow Badgers will be there to back me up and provide me with the care and love I need to make it better. Badgers put others before themselves, and that is one of my favorite aspects about being a part of such an amazing community. You always have someone you can count on, and you should always be willing to return the favor.
