Expensive taste? Small wallet? I am the biggest culprit of this especially when it comes to make-up. But over the past few years, I have come to the realization that even though I think that my make-up will be perfect if I buy the good stuff, I can get a good quality make-up look without spending my whole paycheck at Sephora.
Most of my make-up is purchased at Walmart or Target with the exception of my contouring pallet, Anastasia. This is the most expensive product I use. I purchased it from Amazon and only spent round $25, which is a pretty decent price for a contouring pallet.
Foundation
I have found that the Revlon ColorStay works best for my skin. It last a full day and doesn’t make my skin incredibly oily. Only $9 from Walmart.
Bronzer
Bronzer is the key to a good look especially during summer. Wet n Wild ColorIcon Bronzer is always a great choice! It will give you the perfect summer glow. Just $4 from Walmart.
Blush
Blush is always underappreciated – ladies, blush is where it all began. Covergirl Blush is the way to go. I suggest the colors Rock N Rose and Plum Perfect. It's $4 from Walmart.
Concealer
This concealer is a lifesaver. Holy. Cow. I will never stop using Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer. Just $5 from Walmart.
Eye Shadow
Yes – I know. The Naked pallet is every girl’s dream, but until our wallet allows, use a knock-off brand. I use In The Nude. It has 12 colors and they stay on all day. Just $9 from Amazon.
Eyeliner
I have very unsteady hands so I use a marker/pen type of eyeliner. Rimmel ScandalEyes Thick and Thin Eyeliner is the way to go if you want to get that perfect line and wing. $5 from Walmart.
Mascara
I feel like mascara is all about personal choice. Some people like to use three mascaras to get the volume – some people use one and done. If you’re a “one and done” type of mascara girl then Maybelline’s Colossal Volume Express is the way to go. $5 from Walmart.
Lipstick
My go-to color and brand is always Plum Perfect by Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor. For me this lip color is perfect if you're looking for a semi-dark look. You can also make it lighter by applying chapstick first and then the lipstick. Find it at Walmart for $8.
Brushes
I use all ELF brushes. They are low in cost and do not leave bristles behind on your face. They typically range from $1-$5 a brush.
One day, ladies, we will have a great paying job where we can afford all of the name brand make-up products are little hearts desire - or maybe not - but until we hit that point in life we will gratefully use our low cost make-up.
May your Monday morning make-up look just as great as your Friday night make-up.
