Occasionally, your subconscious is just really stupid, for lack of a better explanation. Just when you think the world is rocking and rolling again, you dream of that one person you would rather not dream of, thus spending the next few days replaying the dream over and over. You begin to question not only your sanity but also your worth. Was this other person worth all of the time you spent and unfortunately continue to spend time on? Then you begin trying to backtrack through all of the pain and misunderstandings to pinpoint the one moment in which the perfect bubble you found yourself entrapped in burst. Was it you? Could you had changed anything? And why in the world are you dreaming of this person again?
I am by no means saying the dream is romantic. It could have been as simple as this person's face in the background and among the crowd in your dream, but the silver-lining is that they were there at all. To some people, a face in the crowd is nothing, and that is normal. But when there is a specific face in the crowd, the context seems to change. This is in no way suggesting you miss this person or want them back in life. To some, a dream means nothing, but to others, there is almost a glimmer or fear, depending on the dream, that it could actually come true.
In the Bible, dreams play a vital role for men such as Abraham, whom God promised a son, Zacharias, whom God also promised a son though he was old in age, and let us not forget Joseph. Joseph might as well be deemed "The Dreamer" of the Bible. Not only did he dream of his brothers bowing down to him -- which happened --but he also interpreted dreams. Even hundreds and thousands of years ago, dreams were important to the development of relationships of all kinds.
It is important to remember that I am not suggesting a dream with a face of an ex-significant-other means you should get back together because the two of you might have kids late in life and that kid may become a famous ruler. No, I am not saying this at all. What I am saying is that dreams are not something to always take lightly, because God is known to speak to his followers through dreams. If God places someone in the background of your dream, maybe it is a subtle reminder to leave them there. Leave this face in the crowd as just that, leave them as just a person with no extra importance. Leave them in the background and stop forcing them to the forefront of your life. Listen to your dreams, for there you have the ability to find much wisdom.
Happy dreaming!
