I have this girl friend who's really cute but no Gigi Hadid and somehow she always brings a round of drinks to the table on some dudes tab. So finally last week after yet another round of applause from our people for her charitable efforts of 5 Fireball shots. I asked her how she does it and you wouldn’t believe how simple it really is...

1. So what he’s no Brad Pitt

Our professional drink finesser told us that even if they aren’t your type, even if they are the exact OPPOSITE of your type just talk to them. At the end of the day, people are just trying to communicate and make connections.

So what you aren’t going to marry them, but that doesn’t mean your girlfriend wouldn’t go out with him or his friend is EXACTLY your type, or that it couldn’t be a networking opportunity. At the end of that amazing convo or miserable interaction, you’ve still got a free drink in your hand and a stronger buzz to get through it!

2. The accidental ‘bump into’

I decided to do a little drink finessing of my own. I spotted a somewhat attractive guy at the bar and “bumped” into him.

I grabbed his arm for balance and apologized then went on to explain how hard it is to get a drink in this place. He agreed and we started talking about school and what year he was in. Before I knew it he had gotten me 2 drinks and I was explaining I needed to find my friend but I would be back…

3. Go at the right time

It’s always a good idea to get your first drink so you have the courage to get your flirt on for the rest of those drinks. It’s also important to scope out your next conquest and see if they are available and tipsy enough to be in the giving spirit. Also, make sure you’re not breaking up some intense conversation or funny story, boys hate that just as much as girls do.

4. DANCE

If someone asks you to dance, go! Face it, ladies, we’re never going to look back on the night 20 years from now and say omg I so regret dancing with that guy. Who cares, burn those calories, release those endorphins and when you’re done mention how thirsty you are! He’ll be running to the bar to grab two drinks faster than you can say make it a double.

5. Find the right guys

I was in Key West over Christmas break with some of my close friends last year and we were having a blast but between day drinking and shopping our dolla dolla bills were fading faster than our tan lines the following week. I decided it was time to try and get some free drinks.

I scanned the bar and found a group of guys who looked single and had watches the size of my fist so I asked if they were using this stool next to them. We talked and they mentioned they had come over here on a yacht, checkmate!

Or so I thought... After about 10 minutes of talking, I decided to make the first move. I mentioned that I was in a bet with my friends who could get the first round of shots for free and they were more than happy to help and our group's hit it off so much that we ended up buying them a round!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
