By now most people have heard the devastating news: Zayn Malik is no longer a member of One Direction. Yes, that's right. The boy band so many of us have grown to know and love is now only a four-piece. Of course, there are much more important issues in the world, but if you are anything like me, then this news has probably taken a toll on you. In these past few days, however, I have learned that the world keeps turning and life AZ (After Zayn) does exist. So, if you feel like being a little dramatic this week, here are a few ways you can cope with this latest tragedy:
- Listen to every One Direction song ever.
- Watch every One Direction interview ever.
- Watch One Direction concert videos.
- Watch NBC's One Direction TV special.
- Watch Zayn's audition video.
- Watch all videos from One Direction's days on XFactor.
- See how many times you can watch This Is Us in a day.
- Watch a compilation video of Zayn's high notes. This can make things worse rather than better. but it is necessary.
- Take a moment to appreciate the many hairstyles of Zayn.
- Read "Dare to Dream" by One Direction.
- Read "Where We Are" by One Direction.
- Eat lots of ice cream.
- Eat lots of cookies.
- Eat lots of cake.
- Cry.
- Yell.
- Spend a day in denial, pretending like Zayn never left.
- Think of the amazing solo album Zayn is going to put out.
- Remember that Zayn's decision was for the best of his personal and mental health.
- Be happy knowing that this is not the end of One Direction and that, in the words of Zayn himself, "they will continue to be the best band in the world."
We will miss you, Zayn. We love you.
