Let's face it, we're all addicted to something. There are those that are obsessed with Netflix, others sports or shopping, but some of us are undeniably pinaholics. No matter how hard we try to stay off this glorious website full of butterflies and rainbows and endless opportunities for greatness, or how many times we deny that we might have an unhealthy relationship with it, at the end of the day, we're just a tiny bit addicted to Pinterest. If you can say "yeah, that's totally me" to any of this below, stop trying to fool yourself and admit that you too are obsessed with Pinterest.
1. Your grocery list is based off of recipes you've found on Pinterest
Where do you even buy coconut flour or almond meal? No clue, but you'll need both to make that paleo-friendly chocolate cake you saw on your friend's baking board this morning.
2. People ask too often: "did you get this from Pinterest?"
What, I'm not clever enough to think of using paint swatches to make a calendar myself? ...yeah, you're right, I found it on Pinterest.
3. You're used to seeing toddlers that look better than you ever will
It's fine, I didn't want to have self-esteem anyway. *Immediately searches for best ice cream flavors to eat when sad.*
4. You have boards for literally everything
One day your boards on how to build an awesome treehouse and tips for backpacking across Russia will come in handy. Better to be over-prepared than underprepared, right?
5. You've already planned for events that won't be happening anytime soon, or might never happen
No, you're not engaged, but you need to have your entire wedding ready down to the color of the flowers for when the time comes, and who knows when you'll need decoration ideas for a preschool graduation?
6. You get the "oops, you've already pinned this" message on a daily basis
Some things are just so brilliant and perfect that they deserve to be saved more than once. Chill out, Pinterest.
7. Whenever you have free time, you go right to Pinterest
Class is cancelled? Pinterest. Friends can't go out for dinner anymore? Pinterest. You finish your homework early? Pinterest. Just kidding, you don't do your homework. Too busy on Pinterest.
8. You pin exercise tips and workout plans but never seem to make it to the gym
Do you even have a gym membership? Irrelevant. You still need to pin that half-marathon training schedule.
9. Your apartment will just never be nice enough
Even if you went with an upscale, modern city vibe, you'll just end up seeing boho, Anthropologie-inspired pictures that look way cooler and realize you'll never achieve that "Pinterest-perfect" apartment, no matter how hard you try or how much money you spend.
10. You have to reference your fashion board before picking out an outfit
It's like having your own personal stylist to refer to when deciding if it's not too edgy to wear boots with your sundress or whether or not the necklace clashes with your top.
11. You tell yourself you'll only go on Pinterest for 10 minutes, but it always becomes an hour (or four)
Don't lie to yourself, it's just disrespectful to both you and Pinterest to say that you'll only spend "a couple minutes" looking at pins. You know full well you could be hours deep just in recipes involving Nutella.
12. You feel a little rush every time you get a repin or a new follower
It really is the highest form of flattery to know that someone likes your interests and tastes on Pinterest. You are all welcome to indulge in my creative genius.
13. You have tried and failed countless times at recipes and crafts
And you're used to it. Why keep trying? Addictions are funny things, my friends.
14. You say "oh, I saw that on Pinterest!" at least once a day
As established before, real people aren't original or creative enough to think of half that stuff themselves. Anything cool-looking or delicious-tasting undoubtedly came from Pinterest.
15. You'll probably pin this article
And probably to the board you already have that's dedicated to your love for the holy grail of all websites itself. No shame, we're all in this together.
Happy pinning!
