"How I Met Your Mother" is an American sitcom that ran from 2005 to 2014. It follows Ted Mosby and his group of friends and their adventures in New York City as Ted attempts to find the love of his life. HIMYM has been likened to infamous sitcoms such as "Friends" and "The Office". It is one of my absolute favorite shows and I have watched it more times than I could possibly count. I personally think every single person should watch the series in its entirety at least once. Quarantine is the PERFECT time to binge-watch all nine seasons of HIMYM.

It's easy to watch

There are nine seasons and each season has about twenty-four episodes. Each episode is about twenty-minutes. It's fairly easy to binge-watch and you could easily watch a season a day.

It gives you a sense of normalcy

The show is very real and deals with a lot of real-life situations. For example, the show deals with heartbreak, financial issues, grief, loss, childhood trauma, all the ups and downs of friendship, new jobs, disappointment, etc. A large portion of the series is just the group of friends talking and hanging out at their favorite bar. Watching a show that deals with normal life in a time when life isn't quite so normal can be incredibly comforting.

Heartwarming friendship

"How I Met Your Mother" emphasizes the importance of having good friends. No matter what happened, the group was always there for each other.

Amazing Guest Stars

HIMYM is known for celebrity guest stars and cameos. Carrie Underwood, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry just to name a few.

Valuable life lessons

The entire plot of the show revolves around Ted Mosby telling his children the story of how he met their mother. Naturally, he inserts several dad jokes and life lessons into his story. One of my personal favorites is "nothing good ever happens after 2 a.m.".

It's never slow or boring

Most shows tend to have a lull in which the show is just kinda "meh". That is not the case with HIMYM. There are constant twists and turns all throughout the series. Characters get together, breakup, get married, lose their job, travel, etc.

It will make you laugh and cry (sometimes at the same time)

"How I Met Your Mother" can really get you in your feel while also making you laugh hysterically. Season six episode fourteen never fails to make me sob and giggle at the same time.

To find out how he met "the mother"

Giphy

As I said earlier, the entire plot revolves around Ted finding his wife. The entire time you are watching this you are wondering if the girl Ted is dating will be "the one". No spoilers... However, there are several hints throughout the series (I believe her name is mentioned within the first few episodes.)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
