Let me begin by saying, if you haven't completed the One Tree Hill series, I advise you to find something else to read because this article does have spoilers!
The summer of 2012, I fell in love with One Tree Hill. I completed all 9 seasons in about 2 months. (I know it's terrible. I had no life.) I remember staying up so many nights just to get through episodes because I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I'm pretty sure I cried through every season. "One Tree Hill" may be one of the most dramatic shows I've ever watched in my life, but it's by far my favorite.
Some of my favorite characters died way too soon (Keith) and the others that should've died never did (Dan). Of course, my favorite character is Brooke Davis. Her character is so independent and strong-willed and she never gives up on anyone. She went through so much in high school, and her character led her to become one of the most successful people on the show. She has so much compassion and love for everyone, and it makes me want to be like her.
This summer, all my dreams came true. It just so happens that I have a beach house outside of Wilmington where "One Tree Hill" was filmed. This summer, they had the first ever EYECON Convention. Most everyone from the cast came together in Wilmington for a reunion, and I was able to attend. It was so awesome to meet some of the people that I loved most in the show. Let me also add that pictures weren't allowed but I was able to meet Coach Whitey, Marvin McFatten (Mouth), Keith Scott, Dan Scott, Skills, Tim, Junk and (HOT) Uncle Cooper. Yes, when I met him I accidentally called him that. He replied, "Honey, your accent is beautiful, but did you know that my name in the script actually wasn't "HOT Uncle Cooper?" I said," No I didn't know that but it should've been." He laughed.
As if meeting the cast didn't fulfill all my dreams, I got to go to a few places where a majority of the filming took place! I hope I made you fall in love with "One Tree Hill" even more and that you will one day visit some of my favorite places in the world. Also, there's nothing wrong with re-watching "One Tree Hill" over and over again or crying through every episode.
