Admit it. Olivia Pope is the definition of a bad ass. She is scared of no one, doesn't take no for an answer, NEVER gives up, and isn't afraid to be herself. I think just about anyone would want to have the sass and confidence she does.
First of all, you can't be scared of anyone or anything. I'm talking about those people that try to throw you down and discourage you. The intimidating ones THINK they are better than you, but little do they know, THEY AREN'T and you're going to show them. Next time someone tries to tell you that your fifty hours of hard work weren't enough, tell them: HOW ABOUT THEY DO IT. Tell them that you don't think they did enough work and maybe if they weren't too busy criticizing you, they could have done something to make whatever you were working on better. DON'T let these people scare you because they're above you or your friend or your enemy and seem as though they can destroy you. If they say they can destroy you, chances are, you can destroy them too.
*DISCLAIMER* Don't go face men in masks with guns (you should be scared of them). Don't lose your job by telling your boss to F off. Don't go destroy the girl you hate, and DO NOT let her get the best of you. You should be just as terrifying as the person trying to push you around...no wait...MORE terrifying.
Second of all, you cannot take no for an answer. This means that when you have an amazing idea or you know you can do something, don't let someone tell you no you can't do that or no you won't make it because YES you can. When a man tells you that you're a woman and you can't take that FBI position, tell him to F OFF! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Olivia Pope doesn't take no for an answer. She may for a second, but then she realizes she's a boss ass bitch and will NOT.
*DISCLAIMER* That doesn't mean when your mom tells you to go pick up something from the store for her, you just yell, "NO MOM I'M BUSY CHANNELING MY INNER OLIVIA POPE!!" You think you're too old for a whooping? HA! She doesn't. Don't say, "no I can do it," to someone telling you that you can't face those men in masks with guns that you decided to not be scared of after ignoring my disclaimer in part one.
Third of all, you CANNOT ever give up. If you've already worked so hard on something, why in the world would you ever give up? If you believe you can do something and haven't taken no for an answer, then somehow, some way, you can get it done. Abandoning your hard work and your goal isn't an option because what if you do? All would be lost and you may never know what the outcome would have been if you would have stuck to what you were doing. You never know how big of an impact you could have made. This is something Olivia Pope lives and would die by: DO NOT GIVE UP. Give yourself a minute and regroup, BUT REGROUP! In the very first season, when losing is brought up, (hot) Harrison says that she doesn't lose, she keeps trying until she wins...there's ALWAYS another way.
*DISCLAIMER* This doesn't mean don't give up on trying to be the first man on the moon....because um news flash, it's already happened whether the conspirators believe it or not. DO give up when you've ignored my disclaimers from part one and two and you've taken on the men in masks with guns, RUN GIVE UP GO AWAY!!!!
Last, but not least, NEVER be afraid to be yourself. The way Olivia Pope got where she was today, was by being herself. She spoke up in the President's (governor at the time) staff meeting telling him his marriage sucked. She was not afraid to speak her mind and show him what's up (and look where that got her). She never backs down from who she is. She lost herself at one point in Season 1, but after coming to terms, she realized she is who she is, and that's exactly who she is going to be. YOU DO THE SAME! So what if you're a little weird or like the weird boy or someone you aren't "supposed" to like!? WHO TELLS YOU WHO YOU ARE!? NOBODY BUT YOU!!! Be yourself and never be scared to 'let your freak flag fly!' Be proud of that flag, whatever it may have on it!! Fly it high, and don't ever bring it down or put it away!!

We all watch Scandal or hear about it and realize how awesome and kick ass this woman is. We all want to be her, but it's really not that hard. You may not have an affair with the president by following these simple guidelines, but you will become someone that people will respect. You will also learn to appreciate yourself. I mean, who needs an affair with the president when they have themselves to be around all day anyway? Be bold, be yourself, be as fierce and confident as Olivia Pope.
