New York Fashion week was this month, filled with intricate and stunning looks from the best designers. If you haven't had the time to catch up on the latest trends, then no worries, here are the hottest trends straight from the runway and you can apply to your own wardrobe today!


1. Off the shoulder

Designers such as Ji oh, Brandon Maxwell, Monse, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu, Lela Rose and more showed bare shoulders and collar bones on the runway, making it this season's trendiest ways to show off some skin.



2. Velvet

The luxury of velvet was a popular choice of fabric this season, as gowns and suits were made entirely out of dark and light-toned velvet cloth which walked down the runway at Phillip Lim, Ralph Lauren, Derek Lam, Tanya Taylor, Rachel Zoe and more.



3. Fringe

During this fashion week, we saw how fringe can be just as chic as boho. Fringe was everywhere from the hemlines of dresses, skirts and jackets, to bags, shoes and earrings. Designers such as Sophie Theallet, J. Crew, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Rebecca Minkoff, Dian Von Furstenberg and others did an amazing job at incorporating fringe in a unique but classic way.


4. Shearling jackets

Shearling jackets have now made their official comeback since designers such as Kate Spade, Vfiles, Altuzarra, Lancoste and others have sent this classic aviator look down their runways.



5. Ruffles

If you thought ruffles were only for little girls and tacky vintage, then you were dead wrong. At this year's fashion week we saw many over the top ruffle pieces strut down the runways for designers such as Christian Siriano, Jill stuart, Cuchnie et ochs amoung others.


6. Orange

`For this spring season, orange really is the new black. Designers such as Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, Narciso Rodriguez and others made sure to send bright hues of orange dresses down the runway.


7. Touches of fur

In the frigid air of New York City, fur definitely made its presence at shows such as Rodarte, J. Crew, Yiga Azrovel, Anna Sui, Tome, Vera Wang and more. The different colored and textured furs were mostly presented in patches as accents or as full on coats.


8. Urban Street Wear

For the ultimate lazy girl, you'll be happy to hear that oversized hoodies, jackets and baggy jeans and sweatpants were all very much present with designers such as Alexander Wang, Rag and Bone, Public School, Baja Eact and more.


9. Sequins

Sequins made a striking appearance on the runway this season as it completely covered midi dresses and elegant gowns in shows such as Marc Jacobs, Alber Elbaz, Hedi Slimane and others.


10. Metallic gold

Different tones of metallic gold fabric created a festive yet soft glamour look at this years fashion week as designers such as Karen Walker, Alice and Olivia, Diane Von Furstenberg displayed these gold pieces in a variety of ways from dresses, to pants, to shoes and suits.
