This past week has been very emotional, to say the least. Whether or not you're elated, or devastated, angry and disappointed, or happy and relieved, there has been an outpour of emotions. While I won't reveal where I am on this spectrum of emotions, I will say that the amount of violent riots and hate, makes me nervous. They make me nervous because I want to see America rally together during this time. I don't want to see Trump supporters vs. Hillary Supporters, or Republicans vs. Democrats but Americans with Americans.
I read something this week, and it's really stuck with me. It made me change the way I will think about every future election: "Wanting Trump to fail, is like wanting the pilot to crash the plane that we are all in." I hope Trump does great things, I hope that there's something that he does during his presidency that you can get behind, that you can support. I hope he is an amazing president and that he does "Make America Great". Not because he was the number one choice, not because he's a republican, a millionaire, business man or any other reason that people may have given me. But because I'm an American, and he is my President (elect), whether or not I wanted him to be.
So I hope he succeeds. I hope he doesn't crash this metaphorical plane that we are all on. And I hope that the hate from both sides will stop. I hope that we can join together as Americans, and pray that our future is bright. That we can agree to disagree, and still choose to love each other at the end of the day. That we remember that no matter what happens, we are one country, and we can either choose to stand together or fall apart.
