As I am packing up my bags, getting ready to leave to be a camp counselor this summer, I have so many thoughts running through my head. I have so many hopes and prayers for this summer.
My Campers:
I hope that my campers leave camp without a single regret. I hope that they make new friends and cherish every moment while they last. Friendships made at camp are ones that last a lifetime and I hope that my campers can indulge in the experience. Most importantly, I hope that my campers will learn more about God and want to grow deeper in their relationship with him. That they will leave camp with a burning urge to witness to their friends and family when they go back home so that more will come to know God.
My Fellow Camp Staff:
I am so excited to meet and learn about all of the wonderful people I am going to be spending my summer with. I pray that God will use each counselor and staff member in a unique way to show campers the love of Christ. I pray for humbleness in moments of frustration, patience in moments of chaos, and in every action done in the resemblance of Christ. I hope that while you are having fun and teaching and sharing the gospel with your campers, you will also gain more wisdom and grow more in your personal walk in faith. I hope that while your campers leave changed, you will also leave at the end of the summer changed. I can't wait for all of the memories we will share together!
Myself As A Counselor:
I pray that God will use me to show his love. I hope that I can humble myself to become a vessel for God to pour through to others. I know that this summer will be a huge adventure for me and I hope for no distractions so that I can take advantage of every opportunity I have to enjoy with my campers and fellow camp staff. This summer is not about me, it is about my campers and most importantly, God. I hope to walk away this summer with a better understanding of my own relationship with God. I hope to walk away with lifelong friendships. I know that the people I will meet will have a lasting effect on me. Lastly, I hope that I will walk away from camp with a changed heart. I know that God is not done working for me and I hope and pray that I can cherish and accept his love and use my experiences from camp to glorify God and help others come to know him.
While I spend this summer at camp, I hope and pray that in every activity, devotional, prayer, and the minute we spend together, my campers, the camp staff, and I will live in a way to serve others to glorify Him.
