To My Hometown, Thank you.
Thank you for giving me years of good memories. Thank you for the support system that has enabled me to do what I have done. Thank you for creating this bubble for me to live in for 12 wonderful years, but I can't come back.
I can't come back because I eventually have to leave that world behind and find out what is really out there. In my hometown everything is peaceful. Everything is always normal. When an event shakes out nation, our hometown stands still. The sun still shines, the wind still blows, and the bunnies and squirrels still play. This is nice for some, but for me it's my worst nightmare.
Being a college student, I have met many people who want to move home and live normal lives, which is totally okay and not the point of this article. The point of this article is to show people that the typical life isn't for everyone. The typical life isn't for me. I need to go and move away and see the world. I need to live in a city without my family. I need to travel and see the world. I need to figure out what I want in a life.
Yes I love my family. They're most important people in my life. Yes I would love to have them down the street from me so I could see them daily, but right after college it isn't going to happen. I am going to go and see what is out there. I am going to really see what the world is like not from the view of the bubble we lived in.
I love my hometown, and I can thank it for who I am today, but it is time to move on.
