Strip Down Naked, And 10 Other Things To Do When You’re Home Alone, No Bae Needed

Freedom!

Finding out you are going to have some uninterrupted alone time can be great. Especially knowing you don't have to lock yourself in your room to get some peace for the night. Here are 11 things you can do to take advantage of having your entire house or apartment all to yourself that don't involve a significant other sneaking over.

1. Sing in the shower

When my family is home I often feel self-conscious about my singing voice. So when I'm home alone it is a great time to sing freely.

2. Blast music

Sometimes when other people are home you can't be as loud as you want to be. So when no one is home it's the perfect time to turn your music all the way up.

3. Strip

This is one of the few chances you get to be free. Take off your clothes and let your body relax. It is a great experience that you can only do very infrequently when you live with people. Even if you sleep naked, being able to walk around is a different kind of freedom.

4. Take naps in weird places

In the summer my house gets very hot so taking a nap on the cold tile kitchen floor feels great. Also, in the winter I like to sleep on the floor in the middle of the living room to feel the warmth from the fire place.

5. Dance

I don't have room in my bedroom to dance, so when everyone leaves the house and I turn up the music, it feels great to let loose and dance through the house.

6. Cook or bake

I also love cooking when no one is home because there is no one there to get in my way or steal my food.

7. Just do your thing in a different part of the house

Most commonly when my family is not home I just do the same stuff I was going to do in my room but in the living room.

8. Order food

If I'm not in the mood to cook or don't have all the ingredients, I'll order food. I don't have to share it with anyone and my mom won't yell at me for wasting money because she isn't there.

9. Have friends over

My parents are cool with me having friends over when they are not there. Sometimes, it's nice having them over then because we don't have to worry about being too loud.

10. Leave the back door open

I love feeling a breeze so I'll sit in the dining room to do work and leave the back door open. My parents get mad if I leave it open too long, so this is one of my favorite things to do in the summer.

11. Literally anything you like doing but feel weird doing in front of others

There are so many things you can do from watching movies to singing as loud as you can. Just do what makes you happy that is safe. It's your time to just be you and not worry about what others think.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
