Now that the leaves are changing and the temperature is falling, we can definitely say that the holiday season if in full force, and I know that sometimes it is easy to forget that the holidays aren't always about you.
Personally, I know that the Holidays can be pretty stressful. There are a million family events, if you play a winter sport, there's a game every weekend, and Christmas present shopping never seems to go as well as planned. But even though all of these things pile up, we all need to find a way to enjoy the holidays.
Some of us...probably many of us...have at least one family member that is either going through some sort of illness or quite simply just getting older, and the holiday season is a time of hope for them, and we need to encourage that hope.
It is strange to think that in a world that is as advanced and forward pressing as the world that we live in today, a world that is filled with wealth and success has people all throughout it that are living without homes and families. Now the Holiday season is where I feel the most for the people who are so unfortunate that they do not have a home with a roof to sleep under on Christmas Eve or a family to come home to that has a home cooked meal and plenty of love to share.
These are the people that need the extra love, time, and care during this season of giving. the next time you see some one that clearly is having a hard time or seems like they need a little pick-me-up, maybe all they really need is a Happy Holidays or a Merry Christmas from you
The people around us, whether family or friends, use this time to reach out to their loved ones and make sure they feel special, loved, and cared for. It is our job to also be there for them and make sure that they have everything they need to be safe, happy, and loved throughout this Holiday season, because you never know the last time you might see someone.
