If you know me at all you know that one of my biggest obsessions is nail polish. I love having festive nails when I can, but I am not the best artist. Luckily for people like me, Pinterest has a limitless amount of easy, customizable looks.

1. Clear Stars

I know that I for sure would not be able to freehand a star onto my nails. This tutorial uses the idea of star-shaped sequins to get an awesome result. The best part is this look works for Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years.

2. Glittery Santa Hats

This look is definitely a little more complicated than the first, but the accent nail detail makes it a little less stressful, as you only have to get it right twice. Use tape to get the white fir on the hat straight and a pencil eraser for the pompom.

3. Purple with Crystals

If you are someone who likes darker colors, this look takes a dark plum color and makes it blingy. Make this super Christmasy with red nails and white crystals, or keep it more subtle with a nude.

4. Sweater Print

Nail stamping is one of my favorite things. It lets you achieve a super complicated looking manicure with just a few materials. If you are willing to put a few more minutes into your manicure it can give you amazing results.

5. Blue Glitter

If you can't tell, I love glitter, but it doesn't always pop as much as I want it to. By layering glitter over a bright base the glitter doesn't seem as scattered.

6. Nude with Gold Stripe

This look is super subtle and wearable. Again, the nude with gold sparkles make it appropriate, and adorable for any outfit or party. Besides, why would I turn to anyone other than Lauren Conrad for style advice?

7. Three-Dot Trail

These nails look like you tried really hard, but all it really requires is a dotting tool, or even a toothpick and a steady hand. Make the dots glittery to add a little more sparkle to the look.

8. Red, Gold, and Polka Dots

Again, all these nails require is a dotting tool and a few colors of nail polish. The dots are easy enough to do on all your fingers or keep it more subtle with accent nails as shown above.

9. White Glitter

I love that these nails look like snow. Using loose glitter gives these nails a very different look perfect for a winter wonderland themed party.

10. Christmas Light Decals

I have never personally tried water decals, but they look super easy to use in Instagram videos. They give awesome, detailed results for those that may not be all that artistic and come in tons of patterns.

11. Light Blue Glitter

What a surprise, more glitter. These nails are much more vibrant if you are someone who is not super into dark colors. The light blue is reminiscent of snow, giving it a wintery feel.

12. Red and Green Studs

These are probably the most complicated design of all listed above. The tutorial starts by putting down a drop of copper polish on top of a nude base and dragging it with a toothpick to look like a star. From there, they dropped blobs of red and green polish in the center of the star to look like a gem. I think this could be made much easier by placing a crystal in the wet polish instead.

Hopefully, now you are feeling inspired to play around with your mani. I can't wait to do one of these, which should I do first?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
