Okay, so all of us have heard these amazing event that has happened this week.

The Cubs won the World Series!

What an amazing moment for not only the Chicago Cub's fans, but just in sports history in general!

I would like to list a couple of things that have happened since 1908, when the Cubs won the world series before this week. This victory is a long time coming.... trust me.

1. Government

Since the cubs won the World Series in 1908, 18 presidents have been elected, and 11 amendments have been added to the constitution. That is a lot of government people, and a lot of change!

2. Radio/Misc.

In 1908 the consumer radio had not been invented! Also coffee filters, paper cups, hearing aids, sun tan lotion and ball point pens had not been invented! Can you imagine a world without these important things?

3. No Plastic!

The World Series champs Cubs did not have plastic helmets because....plastic was still being invented! Who knows what their helmets were made out of?

4. National.....what?!

The NFL didn't exist! Neither did the NBA or the NHL. When the Cubs won the World Series in 1908 think about how big of a deal that was even more so in some ways than the World Series this year! There were no other national sports to compete for the title!

5. Fashion changed

Since the cubs won the World Series in 1908, Bell Bottom pants came into style, went out of style and came back in style....and went back out of style.

All in all, there has been so much history since the Cubs have won, but all that has changed because they won!

Congrats Cubs and to the faithful fans who have stuck with them all these years!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
