Several weeks ago, Hillary Clinton was reported to have been using her personal email for the use of Secretary of State affairs. The press has been in an uproar over this "scandal." Clinton had a private server installed in her home, a server that was paid for using her Senate PAC money. After using this server to send emails regarding Secretary of State matters, the server is now in the hands of the federal authorities. Authorities are finding that the classified emails have been wiped out of the server, which contained a huge amount of information. This is all scandalous, but what is even worse is how Clinton and her campaign are handling the situation.
Clinton's campaign has been denying her use of the private server when there is still evidence of history that private emails containing classified information were sent. This denial will hurt Clinton's campaign, but what could hurt it even more is what she is saying about the situation.
Clinton denies ever wiping her server. She said to reporters: "(What,) Like with a cloth or something?" Clinton is trying to joke about a serious matter, a topic that concerns many U.S. citizens, so she should take it seriously as well. She claims that she does not understand what wiping a server means or how it even works.
Clinton also stated, "Now I think it's kind of fun. People get a real-time, behind-the-scenes look at what I was emailing about and what I was communicating about." Clinton is acting as if this is amusing and is trying to play off her mistake when she should be admitting it. It is unprofessional and not something I would want in a future presidential candidate. She is untrustworthy, and the fact that she cannot handle the situation and put questions to rest about the subject are signs that she may not be the best presidential candidate.
