Often times people would say, "These are the best years of your life." High school was great don't get me wrong. You learn to drive, and you get to live carelessly for four years. After high school, there are plenty of things to worry about, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Life becomes more exciting because you are allowed more freedom. With freedom also comes responsibility. Of course, you could take ten trips to the beach and eat out every night, but who is going to pay for that? To put it simply you have to find balance.
Everything has been planned for you throughout high school. You go to school, you kind of get to select your classes, you go home do whatever is asked of you, then repeat the process. Once you reach college you have the freedom to choose. You can choose your classes, when you want to go to class, what you eat, what you do, where you go, what you wear and everything in between. It is difficult to manage time because you are given so many choices, but really that is the best part because it allows you to discover new things about yourself. You get to meet new people and learn new things.
Life after high school is less of routine and more of an adventure. I'm am grateful for my high school years but I do not want to go back and relive them. I am enjoying the present much more than the past.
