Don't Judge Me
Start writing a post

So lately, I've been getting a lot of backlash because of who I support for the Presidential candidacy. Hear me out before you get in line before everyone else calling me insane.

The other night I got in a fight on Facebook with a sophomore in high school. Now, I am entering my sophomore year in nursing school and this kid was calling me uneducated for supporting Trump. Some of you anti-Trump people can't even explain in an actual logical reason why you don't stand by him. I'm not saying he's perfect at all, but when putting him side by side with his competition, I'd rather have him than a woman responsible for thousands of innocent American lives.

To say the least, Donald Trump has turned things from nothing into something. The past presidents that we have had seemed to have strong follower mentalities. The one thing that sets Trump apart from his competition is his ability to speak what is on his mind (a reason you either love or hate about him). It is no surprise whatsoever that America is on a huge downward spiral starting with the crash of Wall Street and the Housing Market in 2008. We lost everything, seemed to be getting better, and well now, here we are.

Compared to our current [resident, I thoroughly believe that Donald Trump loves America and the people in it. Before you jump and scream about "building the wall" and "banning all Muslims," you need to stop and fact check yourself first. He NEVER said at anytime that he didn't want people from other countries living here, he said that he wants them to enter legally, something our current president has no problem turning an eye too. When we opened up the border to Mexico, a lot of positive came over, but so did a lot of negatives. Mexico wrote America off as the time as a place to "dump prisoners and mental patients." Of course, we can also look at the drug trade that has thoroughly expanded and Mexico's involvement with it being so branched to America.

America needs someone to come in and run it exactly like a business—something many people are not too keen on. While all of you scream and yell and post to all these social media platforms about him being a racist and a misogynist and all these horrible things, I think it is important to look back before he was running against the Democrats and remind ourselves that he was never called a racist before stepping up to this plate. In my opinion, many people fear him more than they actually hate him. Reasons being that Trump wants to almost start from scratch and dedicate his four (or eight) years in office to truly "Make America Great Again."

Trump is not a politician, he is a business man. Going back to my opening paragraph, he has made a life turning nothing into something. He has molded a platform and basically flipped off the establishment and this is why many people are iffy in standing with him. Funny how the one word that elected Obama into Office is the one word that scares people into standing with Trump: "change."

He is not rehearsed. He is not taking all the suggestions and money from these people like he could be and turning it into exactly what we've seen in the past. With running his campaign off of only money comes from him should be a big deciding factor to some people that he is standing with the America people and will not let it be bought anymore. We need someone with his mindset to come in and work for the American people. When you fight as hard as him, it is hard to see him as anything other than what he really is: an American.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
