Take life into your own hands
Grades slipping? Going out too much? Working more than usual? Feeling like there is just something in general, wrong? Are you in a mood and have no idea what to do?
People ask, "why don't you fix it?". It's not that easy. So here are some tips that could help you a little.
This is how I personally get out of a "slump".
- Wake up early.
- Do not look at your phone as soon as you wake up and do not just lay in bed- get up and start your day as soon as the alarm goes off.
- Eat something for breakfast, even if it's just a small snack like a granola bar.
- Make a list of all the things to do today, you can do it in your head but I would write it down so you don't forget
- Do not let this list scare you! This is to push you to do it all, because you have the ability to. The earlier you start your day, the better because you'll have more time to do the things!
- Take some time to yourself, but do not forget your list
- Watch a show, read a book, take a shower or whatever it is to get yourself relaxed
- Also, if you've done the majority of the things on your list, you deserve a small break
- Watch a show, read a book, take a shower or whatever it is to get yourself relaxed
- Finish your list off after your break, hopefully you'll have the rest of the day for whatever you please!
Get yourself into a habit or a schedule that makes you feel comfortable. It is also important that the schedule does not stress you out or make you tired. Make a schedule that is realistic and helps you find time for yourself as well. Lists are important, studies are important, work is important but YOU are more important.
Also, if you feel like your "mood" is here to stay for awhile...medication can be beneficial depending on what is going on. If you are in college, there is a good chance that you could also speak to a counselor for free. Maybe talking about what is going on in your life will help you.
