The internet has welcomed many different animals into its worldwide spotlight of insanely cute animals over the years. Among these would be cats, dogs, baby animals, sloths, etc. However, the cutest animal of them all is, without a doubt, the hedgehog. This tiny ball of cute is all over the internet in various memes and costumes and levels of adorable. Here is a list of the many reasons hedgehogs as the cutest things in the world.

1. The origin of their name.

Hedgehogs are so named because while they forage through hedges in search for food they make little piglike grunts through their piglike snouts.

2. They make the cutest little noises.

Hedgehogs don't make very much noise, but they do have some distinct sounds. My favorite is the snuffles.

3. Hedgehogs in costume.

What could be cuter than a hedgehog in a little costume? Especially a hedgeshark!

4. Hedgehog in a cup.

"Hello, yes, I would like to order a cup of hedgehog, please."

5. They like to pretend to be other things.

Hedgehogs are silly little things, pretending to be muffins.

6. Burritos

Angry burrito. Need I say more?

7. They are multi purposeful.

Who needs a bowling ball when you've got a hedgehog?

8. Hedgehogs with other animals.

Cuteness overload.

9. Hedgehogs taking a bath.

Lots of animals look absolutely adorable when taking a bath. The hedgehog is no exception.

10. Hedgehogs doing human things.

What can I say? They're a very talented species.

11. Like impersonating popstars.

Is that a hedgehog or Miley Cyrus?

12. And driving.

Hedgehogs make excellent chauffeurs.

13. They're always getting things stuck on their heads.

According to the Wikipedia page on hedgehogs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedgehog, McDonald's changed the design of their McFlurry containers in 2006 because wild hedgehogs were getting their heads stuck and starving to death.

Domesticated hedgehogs, however, like to stick their heads in empty toilet paper rolls. They're owners often cut the tubes so that the hedgehog doesn't get trapped in it and can easily get out of it, though some hedgehogs still insist on getting stuck in them for hours.

14. They're mischievous little creatures.

Better keep an eye on these sneaky little things at all times.

15. They can take down a dinosaur anytime, anywhere.

Come on, there is no way that is not the most adorable thing you've ever seen.

16. Party animals only come out at night.

Hedgehogs are nocturnal. And they clearly like to party.

17. Always hug a hedgehog.

When you're feeling down, grab your nearest hedgehog for a little cuddle and I guarantee you'll feel much better.

18. They always believe in you.

But if you can't get to a hedgehog, just look at this picture of a hedgehog cheering you on. If that doesn't lift your spirits, I don't know what will.

19. Just look at them!

THEY. ARE. SO. CUTE.

Sure, there are tons are super cute animals in this world. But none of them will ever be able to live up to hedgehogs. They are just too perfect for their own good.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
