This is for both the taken girls who can't be with their boyfriends and the single (not mingling) majority of the female population. You girls who have boyfriends and who get to spend the day with your loved one we envy you.

To us single girls, Valentine's Day is a day dedicated to the mourning of past relationships, flings, boys, kisses, etc. This year it is especially great because it takes place on a Sunday, a day we do not have to partake in any activity aside from consuming a lot of junk food from the comfort of our beds while watching our favorite sappy yet amazing rom-com's.

Netflix during this emotional day. Looking through pictures of past relationships and flings is going to hit right in the feels.
Most of us want that one true love with that boy we admire from afar in our biology class, especially on this dreadful day full of giant teddy bears, chocolate and flowers. Cuddling with someone on Valentine's Day must be a wonderful feeling. However, we sometimes forget we do have that one love. Our best friends. Sometimes we are lucky and they are able to be with us on V-Day, some are our beloved roommates, some live across the country causing you face your own long distance friend relationship. Regardless of where said best friend is, they are there for you and you are there for them.

After waking up and realizing that it is, in fact, February 14th, your least favorite day of the year, you text your best friend. Immediately you dwindle upon your past relationships remembering those cute coupley things you used to do and they add the details you told them but you had forgotten about as the months passed. You both are stronger than the emotions. You have each other and that's truly all that matters. She has been there for you through it all. Regardless of distance and method of communication, she dried your tears, gave the best advice, listened to you go on and on. For you taken girls, she let you vent about how much he annoyed you, still dried your tears on the hard days and much, much more. On this Valentine's Day, try your hardest to listen to her too.

Shoutout to the best friends who are thousands of miles away at different colleges and different hometowns, with different relationship statuses. This Valentine's Day isn't only about having a romantic valentine, it's about telling those that you love how much you really do love them. As much as us anti-Valentine's Day girls want to call cupid stupid, we hope he shot an arrow out there for us. That special someone will cross your path when the time is right and you will eventually meet him. Until then, he his arrow shot between you and your bestie for these tough times, for you to always know you have someone there to lean on when you need it.
