Having An 8 A.M. Class, If Your Classmates Were The Employees Of Dunder Mifflin

Whoever came up with the idea of 8 a.m. classes is not OK.

Classes that start at 8 a.m. are ungodly and sadly inevitable for the most part.

If you are lucky enough to make it all four years without one, then go you. The majority of people have had to suffer through at least one 8 a.m. in their collegiate career and probably dreaded it every other morning.

The worst time to have an 8 a.m. is second semester when you wake up around 6:45 a.m. and it's still dark out. Regardless of how horrible these classes are, there is no one better to describe your feelings other than the cast of "The Office."

When you know you should get to sleep early, but since you have an 8 a.m. your brain is like...

When your earliest class is at noon, you fall asleep at 11 p.m., but when it's an 8 a.m. you're up till 3 a.m...logic.

Waking up in the middle of the night realizing you can still sleep for 3 more hours

There's no better feeling.

Hearing your alarm clock go off for the first time at 6:45 a.m.

Starting to think to yourself, "do I really have to go?" or "wow I hope nothing's due today."

Hitting snooze 3 times over on your alarm knowing it's gonna be even harder to wake up

Like 10 minutes of extra sleep is gonna make all the difference...

Giving yourself a talk and forcing your body out of bed

Why did I do this to myself again...

Staring at your closet in your pj's trying to muster up the brain power to decide on an outfit

Please excuse my outfit, it was way too early to know what matched and what didn't. At this point, I'm going for comfort and not looks.

Suddenly sprinting to change and get out the door cause you know if you don't leave within 2 minutes you will not get a spot

You know the EXACT cut off time that distinguishes if you will make it, or if you'll be circling the parking deck for a spot that doesn't exist.

Blasting music in the car in an attempt to wake yourself up

Trying to wake yourself up by dancing, but for some reason still can't get the blank zombie-like look off your face.

Pulling into a parking spot, and giving yourself a pep talk

All you have to do is focus for an hour and a half, then it's back to bed!

In the rare event that you are early and know you have time for Starbucks, you wait in line like...

Revive my soul venti caramel iced coffee, revive it.

Getting to class, and the person next to you is in too good of a mood

I refuse to be spoken to before 10 a.m.

Finally, after class starts and you've paid attention for a solid 10 minutes, but just can't anymore

Goodnight.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
