Ever think about all the ridiculous things we go through on a daily basis just because we’re girls? Or maybe you just listen to Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy” and think ‘Wow. I wouldn’t have to deal with a whole lot of BS if were a guy? Yeah, me too. That’s why I made a basic list of why being a guy would just make life so much easier. I’m positive at least once in your life, or once a week, you wish that you were a boy.

1. The obvious, no period.

No cramps, no PMS, no food cravings. Imagine not worrying about when you need to restock on pads and tampons? Heavenly.

2. No worrying about getting pregnant.

Guys can literally bang any Anne, Mary and Lisa they want and not have to stress and worry about when they’re supposed to get their period or being pregnant. I mean unless they don’t use a condom, then they’ll have to take care of the mom and the baby… but that’s another story.

3. No negative double standard and no slut shaming.

As always, if a guy has sex with three girls in one night, his friends will praise him like he’s a god. He’ll be seen as a guy that gets girls (to guys that is… girls will see him as a f***boy). But what happens if a girl has sex with more than one guy basically ever? (Hint: She won’t be praised).

4. Less judgment in general.

Honestly, who really notices a guy’s outfit or hair over a girl’s outfit and hair? That’s what I thought.

5. No worrying about hair, outfits or makeup.

It’s actually ridiculous how easy it is for guys to get ready for class, dates, or even going to a bar. They maybe run a brush through their hair, put on their jeans and t-shirt they wore last night and tada! They’re all ready. My boyfriend gets ready in about seven minutes and I kid you not, it takes me 25-minutes to do my hair, 45-minutes to do my makeup, and basically all day to pick out an outfit which I will probably end up changing last minute anyway.

6. Have you ever noticed it takes guys like five seconds to pee?

Yeah that’s just another thing added to the list.

7. No worries about boobs or butts.

The only thing that guys need to worry about girls’ assets is whether he has a good view or not. Girls judge other girls on their butt and cup size but all guys want to do is take a peek. I’m just stating facts.

8. Easier to get jobs/promotions.

What all girls will realize very quickly, if you have not noticed it yet, is that often employers will choose a guy over a girl for a position or promotions. It’s just an unfair fact of life.

9. No worries bout cat calling, getting hit on by creepy old men and feeling safe.

No right minded old man is going to try to hit on and cat call a dude. Period. I mean, they might get hit on by older women but most of them are cougars and some guys dig that. Also, no offense to my ladies, but guys are less vulnerable than women, so feeling safe would be normal if you were a guy.

Yes, these are all valid reasons to hate guys now.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
