Ah, politics. Whether it be a heated conversation with your uncle about Donald Trump or a class discussion about Bernie Sanders, this year’s election is a surefire conversation starter. But, what would happen if we turned each politician into an existing song? Let’s take a look.

2. Ted Cruz, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, etc. -- Taylor Swift, “Better Than Revenge”

Standout line: “She’s not a saint, and she’s not what you think. She’s an actress, whoa.” This could be directed towards their primary opponent, Donald Trump, but it could also be an attack on Hillary Clinton, whom every Republican loves to hate.

3. Bernie Sanders -- Oasis, “Wonderwall”

Standout line: “Today was gonna be the day, but they'll never throw it back to you.” And, despite his loss to Hillary Clinton, many still think, “Bernaaaaay, you’re gonna be the one that saves me.”

4. Jill Stein -- Paramore, “Misery Business”

Standout line: “Second chances, they don’t ever matter. People never change. Once a whore, you’re nothing more; I’m sorry, that’ll never change.”

You can totally imagine her shading Hillary by saying this to Bernie-or-Busters, right?

5. Gary Johnson -- Shawn Mendes, “Treat You Better”

Standout line: “I won’t lie to you. I know he’s just not right for you.” This could go either the Republican or Democratic way.

6. Hillary Clinton -- Ellie Goulding, “The Writer”

Standout line: “Why don’t you be the artist, and make me out of clay? Why don’t you be the writer, and decide the words I say? ‘Cause I’d rather pretend…”

7. Donald Trump -- Marina and the Diamonds, “Primadonna”

Standout line: “I know I’ve got a big ego. I really don’t know why it’s such a big deal, though.”

8. Honorable mention: Robin Thicke, “Blurred Lines”

Very fitting, given all of Trump’s rape allegations. Not to mention what he said about his daughter Ivanka a year ago. Eugh.
