I won't say I'm going to the gym, because we all know that won't happen.

My New Year's Resolutions:

I won't sit here and say how I'll hit the gym and become so fit I will be unrecognizable, because honestly every time I say that it doesn't happen. I love food too much to give it up. This coming year I just want to be become better for myself and those who surround me.

1. Love Myself

I am always so concerned with what people think about me and I need to stop doing that. I need to appreciate myself more because I am great just the way I am.

2. Talk To My Parents More Often

Not living at home has made me realize how much I miss out on when I do go back. It's saddening how much relationships have changed just because I went away. My main goal is to form a better relationship with my parents this year.

3. Make School My Priority

Not that it isn't right now, but I could always improve a couple things here and there. Maybe more studying and less talking.

4. Be There

Not being able to physically be there for everyone is difficult because I'm the type of person who loves to be there for everyone. But, this year I want try to be there for more things. I don't want to miss out on birthday's or special events. I don't want to feel out of place when someone is talking about something and I was away so I can't speak on behalf of that. I just want to be present as much as I can for all that I can. We don't know how many more opportunities we will get.

5. Make Some New Friends

I cannot make new friends to save my life. I usually stick to my normal 4, and even though I love them so much, at one point I want to expand my on my friendships. I could use new perspectives.

6. Spend Less Time On My Phone / Social Media

Can we sit and have dinner without being on our phones all the time? Probably not, but I'm going to try very hard to. It will be a great change for me and everyone else around me. Put those emojis aside and show them a real smile!

7. Drink Less Coke/Sugary Drinks

I seriously have a problem when it comes to drinking sugary drinks!I need to cut it out before it gets the best of me. Lets start off by introducing water into my life.

8. Dance In My Underwear More

If you watch Grey's Anatomy, then you know what I'm talking about. If you're having a bad day, 10 second dance parties to the rescue. It is good for the soul. I promise.

9. Let Myself Be Loved

This is one of my biggest issues. I tend to push people away too much, so I want to work on letting people into my life.

10. Travel

There's so many things I want to do, but one of my favorites is to travel. Maybe take that trip to Vegas for my 21st? I hope so! It all takes time, so I won't rush into things. Great things happen to those who are patient.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
