The college culture, especially here in Pullman, is based on living life to the fullest and making the most out of the four years we are typically given here, sometimes more. To a Coug, this includes more than a few brews, occurring Thursday-Saturday (and sometimes on the daily).

Whatever your festivities entail, you will pay the price one way or another. It’s all fun and games...until morning rolls around, and you're not sure if you played in traffic the previous night or just danced your a** off. The only thing worse than a sunburn or the frat flu is the infamous hangover. If you can’t pull a rally, I heard University of Washington has an 80% acceptance rate for transfers (jokes). As a Coug, you quickly learn to hold your own and recover even faster.

Hangovers are bound to happen any day of the week if you’re doing this college thing right. Of course a blue Gatorade will alleviate the pain, but only for so long. Here are some things that will have you ready for round #2 in no time.

1. Surprise, surprise; water is a good start: Chugging it before you pass out for the night will make a huge difference in the morning. We're college students. In reality, the one-for-one rule for drinking water in between shots is completely unrealistic.

2. Morning after requires breakfast: This is essential and makes one hell of a difference. McDonald’s saves the day if you're able to get out of bed before they switch over to lunch. If you simply cannot muster up the strength, any greasy substance will do.

3. Sleep it off: It's a good excuse to catch up on Netflix and be completely useless for the entire day. Its fine, we understand.

4. Gatorade is good, but Emergin C is better: Giving your body the lost vitamins from the night before will be more beneficial than pounding water and Gatorade. “Emergin C shots,” including the entire packet and a little water, is a match made in heaven when trying to beat and/or keep away the frat flu.

 5. Be kind to your stomach: Napping will take care of the headache, but it's essential to treat your stomach. Ginger-ale or Sprite paired will never disappoint. Both keep the contents of your stomach at bay (at least for a few hours).

When all else fails, you can always attempt the hair of a dog and hope for the best...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
